Non-Contact Laser

The InteliSENS SL 1016 is totally maintenance free, does not need calibration and provides accurate length and speed measurements directly on the product in the toughest production environments. True linear length is measured even on wavy or corrugated surfaces. The unit operates from speed as low as 0.1 m/min up to speeds of 3000 m/min and provides an accuracy of 0.05%.

The SL 1016 uses a long-life Class 3R Semiconductor Laser Diode and a complex optical system to generate a Laser Doppler Fringe Pattern on the surface of the product to be measured. The reflected Doppler Pattern is then analysed 150 times per second and then further processed within the SL 1016 Sensor. The system can be used in a continuous mode for production lines and an auto-batching mode for final cut-to-length control. The system has no moving parts and all electronics are SMD Technology. For the avoidance of all doubt, the sensor can measure any colour of material (including white and black), any material (except polished glass) including plastics, textile, paper, metals, wood, carton, bitumen etc., whatever the material structure, degree of reflection for light, surface roughness, even transparent or opaque products. Sporadic water droplets or even moisture on the material surface, imperfections, airborne materials in the measuring zone have no effect at all on performance and accuracy.
